Anticorrosion principle of hot-dip galvanizing for high-speed guardrail equipment

Jul 27, 2023

The anti-corrosion principle of hot-dip galvanizing is mainly reflected in the following aspects: a thin and dense zinc oxide layer will be produced on the surface of the zinc layer. The substance reacts poorly with water and is poorly soluble in water. Therefore, it has a good protective effect on the inner wave-shaped protective grille. Once the external force on the protective fence exposes the steel or small areas of corrosion, the galvanized protective layer can produce an iron-zinc coupler miniature battery. The substance quickly incorporates into exposed steel to form a new protective layer and continues to protect the moisture barrier. Therefore, hot-dip galvanizing is an ideal anti-corrosion method in breakwaters. This is why some common missing points disappear in a short time. But the galvanized protection of the fence is not permanent. It will also be affected by related factors and cause corrosion.
